A swamp; that was all the boy could figure out in terms of where he was. The murky water beneath his feet, the unusually gigantic trees that surrounded him, the sounds of water-based creatures moving about; yeah, it was definetly a swamp.
The girl in front of him, who was laughing and running away from him just moments before, shrugged in a very un-lady like manner.
I cant say I have.
Well, I guess that means you havent ever seen one up close before?
She groaned, proceeding to smack her forehead with the palm of her hand. This boy just couldnt take the hint; strangely though, she preferred it that way.
Either way, her question of what that sound was, was answered; she didnt need to see one up close, it wasnt necessary. Before she could answer back with a smart remark, the boy beside her quickly made a break for it across the puddle of water they were standing in and crouched down towards a small patch of grass.
He quickly stumbled his fingers through each layer of the green plant to find what he was looking for. With the sound now clearly evident in his ears as well as hers, it didnt take him much time. In less then a few moments, he bolted back to his original spot in front of her with both of his hands cupped together.
Its amazing, isnt it? He asked her all too enthusiastically after slowly opening the container his hands created to reveal a small glowing insect, chirping back up at the girl. For some reason, he found the slightly confused yet content look that crawled up on her face amusing.
Yeah I guess it is.
A young 9-year old airbender suddenly shot out of his bed, with a slight strain evident in his breath as he sat up, taking in his surroundings.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
